Do Walking in the Spirit and Retaining Addictions Agree?

I am excited! The Lord has given me so much to say tonight! HalleluYah!!

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that art bound.

Do you have a sin, which you cannot escape, such as smoking, cursing, drinking or any other activity? Yeshua has said that He has come to free us from those things, which have us in bondage. Satan is the one, which binds us to our sins, yet we are told to resist him and he will flee.

How do we know what are sins aside of the ones, which Torah specifically lists? Galatians 5:19 - 21says this, "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Drunkenness is expressly mentioned, but also other works of the flesh will not enter the kingdom of Heaven. Galatians 5:16 - 17 also say this, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

So, anything which is an addiction to you - that would be qualified as a lust of the flesh, and if we are of the Spirit and walk in the Spirit, then Yeshua should have already set us free. If you have an addiction or lust, then don't hesitate to ask Him to work in your heart so that you might enter the kingdom of YHWH. If you don't then I fear you have taken Yeshua in vain, because the above verse (17) states that if we walk of the Spirit then we will not be able to do the lusts, which we did before. Being able to let go of lustful addictions, through the power of Yeshua, is evidence that you are now walking in the Spirit.
