Hollywood’s Hidden Agenda

Hollywood’s Hidden Agenda

I can remember, when I was growing up, sitting by the television set at night,

with my grandparents, watching such shows as “Hawaii 5-0”, “Kojack”, “The Rockford

Files” and “Barnaby Jones.” I am sure that there was probably a concealed scheme in

these shows, because I feel Satan has always been at work in Hollywood, but I don’t

remember one; I was only 5 or 10 back in the 1970’s, but I realize the film industry

hadn’t become so blatantly open and blasphemous as it has today.

In the world we live in today, there are plots everywhere to indoctrinate our

youth with foul values and messages. One of the most effective tools for spreading this

propaganda is through the television set. Almost every home has one, and almost every

home keeps it turned on the entire time the residents are home. Hollywood and the media

are aware of this, and thus take advantage of creating shows to further their

distribution of filth. It’s everywhere: sitcoms, soap operas, documentaries,

commercials and even children’s programming.

If you own a television and watch it any occasion at all, there’s no escaping it.

The scheme that the movie capital of the world wants to throw at you, targets you

without your even realizing it, through subliminal messages. This is the main way that

commercials grab your attention. I was watching a short film not too long ago, by

Derren Brown, a British psychological illusionist, as described by the “Wikipedia”

website. The short video, hosted at the website known as “Youtube” is simply listed as

“Derren Brown – BMX Bike (explained).” In the film, the host, Mr. Brown invites a guest

on the show. The first thing that I noticed was that the room was decorated with a

large amount of circles often paired up. The walls and floor were white, but

quite a few of the furnishings were red. Also, there was a reel to reel running in the

background to make it appear as if the conversation was being recorded. I watched as

Mr. Brown explained to guest, Simon Pegg, how he gets people to like the gifts he buys

for them and how they actually become eager over the gift, even though it was not at

first something that they would have considered wanting. Mr. Brown then told Mr. Pegg

that he had bought him a birthday present and showed him a large box in the room. Mr.

Brown first asked Mr. Pegg what he would like for his birthday and Mr. Legg responded

that he would like a red BMX bike and even insisted, when asked sometime before, that

was what he had written down, when in all actuality, after looking at the paper, where

he had listed his desired present and sealed it, he had written down a leather jacket.

Mr. Brown then explained how he had persuaded Mr. Pegg to wish for a red BMX bike.

First of all, the circles in the room, especially the ones paired off, the reel to

reel turning, and the dominant red color against the white had been an initial

influence, but Mr. Brown’s speech triggered it even more. Mr. Brown used the word bike

in place of buy a couple of times, barnone to make Mr. Legg think of handlebars and

other phrases that made reference to a bike. When the box was opened, the gift was

indeed a red BMX bike. (YouTube.com).

The above summarization of the film stands to show how easily we, as viewers, are

to target with secret messages while watching the television set, but not all that

Hollywood and advertisers throw at us is in secret. Today, the entertainment industry

has taken the initiative to use God’s name in vain in all varieties of shows. I don’t

watch much TV, but when I do decide to sit down and see what I think is a pretty decent

movie, and I hear God’s name blurted out in obscenity, I just shudder. There use to be

a law against using blasphemy in movies. That law was called “The Hays Code” and it

stated that “Pointed profanity--this includes the words ‘God,’ ‘Lord,’ ‘Jesus,’

‘Christ’ (unless used reverently), ‘Hell,’ ‘S.O.B.,’ ‘damn,’ or every other profane

or vulgar expression, however used--is forbidden.” (hollywoodandgod.com). It’s such a

shame that code is no longer active, and that Hollywood is allowed to poison the minds

of youth and show them that it is alright to diminish the name of the Lord. Ray

Comfort, a well-known former surfboard shop owner from New Zealand, turned evangelist,

thinks that movies containing blasphemies can be stopped. He explains:

With more than 170 million professing Christians in America, we have a sling

that has the power to hit the “dark side” of Hollywood between the eyes and leave a

deep impression on its money-making mind. Simply stop paying to see blasphemous movie

and support the ones you know are good. My goal isn't to clean up movies. That will

never happen unless there is a Christian revival in Hollywood. In the meantime, I just

want them to stop their blasphemy. They are causing an entire generation to hate

Christianity, and to use the name of Jesus Christ to express disgust (hollywoodandgod.com).

Blasphemy and taking the Lord’s name in vain is certainly a horrific thing to see

on the television, however, we must also acknowledge that the film industry uses sex to

indoctrinate our children too, teach that premarital sex is OK, and also numerous

shows are emerging in which the characters are gay, making the bold statement that

homosexuality is permitted in American society now. In fact, there is a gay advocacy

group called GLAAD, which stands for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The

group states there mission by saying “The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation

(GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive

representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia

and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.” (glaad.org).

GLAAD, also did a study on diversity of the 2006 – 2007 primetime television

season and reported:

On The N, MTV Networks' channel for teens, South of Nowhere offers its second

season following the romance between two high school girls. Degrassi: The Next

Generation features gay and lesbian teens Marco and Alex, respectively, as they

struggle to adjust to life after graduation. New in 2007 is The Block, which also

features a supporting gay character. (glaad.org) There are also other shows mentioned

in the article, which involve gay teen characters.

If gay indoctrination isn’t enough to turn your stomach against TV, maybe New Age

propaganda is. One of the most popular television shows today, “Charmed,” is about a

trinity of sisters who learn they are witches after the death of their grandmother.

Here is one of the Charmed characters levitating. (Matmice.com).The eldest sister,

Prue, possesses the powers of telekinesis and astral projection. Piper, the middle

sibling, has the ability to make time stand still and explode items. Phoebe, the

youngest, is able to know things before hand and is also able to float. They are

recognized as the strongest witches on the globe and go about combating demons while

leading an ordinary existence. (maxpages.com)

While some parents are involved in these activities, and don’t mind their children

watching them on television, or actually encourage it, I have to stand firm that one

must monitor very closely what their children watch on TV, if not shut if off

completely other than to check the news or weather. Vladimir Zworykin, age 92,

declared, "I didn't even dream it would be so good. But I would never let my children

come close to the thing." -- on his invention, the television transmitting and

receiving system employing cathode ray tubes. (homeschool.co.uk).(Wikipedia.com).
