Why It's Important to Develop a Philosophical Mindset

Why It's Important to Develop a Philosophical Mindset

Regarding why it is important to develop a philosophical mindset, I have chosen to elaborate on the cultural reason. The lesson discusses how the goal of American educators has attempted to refocus education to accommodate other cultures, while at the same time, redefining our own culture. I will have to agree with that.
Barak Obama said in a speech, back in July of this year, “Instead of worrying about whether immigrants can learn English -- they'll learn English -- you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish.” I believe that is one example of what the lesson is referring to. Indeed, it is good to learn other languages, but the presidential candidate wants to force Americans to change their culture to accommodate others. Instead of preserving what we have, we are forced to change to meet immigrants’ needs.
I also believe that we need to know philosophy, in order to combat the feminists and other groups, who try to rewrite history, just as the lesson said. The book is correct when it says that dead white men formed our country. They formed a Christian nation, with freedom and godly values and beliefs. Feminists try to change this, and change God’s command for women to submit to men, and put women above men. This is a dangerous agenda. Because of this movement, almost all women have had to go to work, leaving their children to the care of strangers, and the family plan, which God had in mind, has practically died.
